"Ten Pillars for Responsible and Ethical AI Adoption in Lebanon’s Health Sector” Article Published in Academia Global and Public Health

We are pleased to share the article “Ten Pillars for Responsible and Ethical AI Adoption in Lebanon’s Health Sector”, recently published in Academia Global and Public Health:
This work emerged from a multidisciplinary, multi-stakeholder expert consensus following the first International Lebanese Medical Association (ILMA) Conference, held in Beirut in July 2025.
The article reflects the valuable contributions and dedicated efforts of ILMA members and healthcare professionals Drs. Walid Ahmar, Francois Fadell, Ziad El-Khatib, and Mirjam Messo, whose collective knowledge and expertise helped shape this important work and develop a framework for responsible and ethical AI adoption tailored to the Lebanese healthcare system.
This is a particularly timely and important contribution in the current era of rapid AI development. The paper is specifically adapted to the Lebanese healthcare system and addresses responsible and ethical AI adoption from a local perspective.
At a time of rapid advances in artificial intelligence, this timely contribution addresses the opportunities, challenges, and ethical considerations surrounding AI in healthcare from a Lebanon-specific perspective. It offers valuable insights for policymakers, healthcare leaders, academics, and healthcare professionals working to ensure that AI is adopted responsibly and ethically within Lebanon’s health sector.
We are proud of the collective expertise and commitment of all those who contributed to this work and to advancing the responsible use of AI in healthcare in Lebanon.
